Class Descriptions • Yoga
All levels of practitioners are welcome, from beginner to advanced. In addition to this class list, we also feature special pop-up classes and guest teachers. (Sign up for our newsletter to hear about it first.) All yoga classes are 6-12 students maximum, and are 90 minutes unless otherwise noted.

This 90-minute moving meditation consists of a set series of 26 Hatha Yoga asanas (physical yoga postures) and 2 types of pranayama (breathing exercises). The therapeutic sequence is designed to warm the whole body, allowing students to deepen into all levels, and to build strength, flexibility, balance, and overall well-being over time. *Now offered in our new Hot Studio!

This class integrates the sacred geometry of Yoga, modern mobility science, and Katonah yoga theory into a vinyasa context that adjusts to meet all levels of students. The practice is a dynamic yet sustainable balance of strength and flexibility with a unique system of "essential connections" that brings awareness to physical corners often unexplored. (All levels welcome!)

This 90-minute flow in the Hot Studio incorporates asanas (physical yoga postures) from the Barkan Method lineage into a vinyasa (continuous flow) style. The therapeutic sequence is a moving meditation, designed to strengthen and stretch all areas of the body, which helps to quiet the mind, and nourish the soul. The movements of The Barkan Method reach deep into the tissue, and promote the relief of tension and stress.

This 60-minute practice opens with a therapeutic Barkan Method Vinyasa, leading into a Yin Yoga sequence. This style of movement reaches deep into the tissue and promotes the relief of tension and stress.

This deeply therapeutic practice focuses on nurturing the connective tissue and joints, promoting mobilization of the fascia. Enjoy a slow-paced class, moving through a series of floor postures, held for several minutes each. Restorative yoga poses complement each class; deeply restful postures where we become completely passive. Each shape is thoughtfully curated with props. *Class elements may include Yoga Nidra, Sound Bowls, Metta Meditation, Reiki Healing, and hands-on stretching.

In addition to the familiar series of 26+2 Hot Yoga, consisting of 26 Hatha Yoga asanas (physical yoga postures) and 2 types of pranayama (breathing exercises), this advanced class incorporates 58 additional yoga asanas. This class is best suited for students who have held a regular Hot Yoga practice for at least two years. Mat Pilates is a mind-body exercise method that weaves together breath, core strengthening, alignment, balance, and awareness. This low-impact, full-body workout is appropriate for all fitness levels and ages.

The Farmhouse Studio is home to three Pilates Reformer machines! Join us for a class to experience the innumerable benefits of this exercise method and equipment. Classes consist of 3 students maximum, allowing for personalized attention and multi-level classes. All are welcome.
What is Pilates?
Pilates is a mind-body exercise method that weaves breath, core strengthening, alignment, balance, and awareness in supporting the spine while strategically working specific muscles. It was designed in the 1920s by Joseph Pilates to heal and restore as a response to dancers and athletes with injuries.

The Pilates Reformer is a piece of equipment that incorporates varying levels of resistance that support a balanced and efficient full-body workout.
Who is Pilates for?
All ages and abilities! As a lower impact muscle strengthening form of exercise, Pilates is ideal for building core strength and flexibility for vibrant and healthy aging.
